Bob McGlincy is an Events Industry veteran with decades of experience and stories to tell. He is a columnist for Exhibit City News … the co-author of The Invisible Industry (a 2024 Amazon “Top New Release”) … and the author of the upcoming series, Expositions and World’s Fairs.

Bob is a graduate of Cornell University. He’s enjoyed a life immersed in the world of experiential marketing and brand architecture. He commenced his career as a stagehand in Atlanta, building movie sets, and installing trade show exhibits in convention centers nationwide. He has worked with some of the premiere exhibit builders and service contractors in the United States, including nth Degree, Exhibitgroup/Giltspur, and Willwork Global Event Services. He advanced from City Manager to Regional Manager, and Vice President before attending the Katz School of Business. Then he progressed to Managing Partner, General Manager, and Director.

 

An astute follower of trade show history and trends, he has been a featured speaker at EACA, TSEA, and T.E.N. He has led dozens of training sessions throughout the country. He has served on the Advisory Council for the Exhibitions and Events Workforce Development Federation, and on the Boards of Highland Park Community Corp, Friends of Holmes, and Meeting Professionals International. Bob lives on a lake in Massachusetts and recently became a grandparent for the second time.
